Designing with the Future in Mind? With our Student Leaders, the Future Looks Bright!

If you weren’t able to attend the event planned, organized, and executed by senior Justin E., you missed an inspiring afternoon!  Justin shadowed a mechanical engineer at Clark Nexsen this past summer.  Because that experience inspired Justin to convince others to focus on sustainability, he wanted to plan an event that would combine art inspired by nature and information about building and living with sustainability in mind.  Below are some highlights from yesterday’s event at the Brock Center.  Special thanks to the Brock Center for hosting–the venue was beautiful; to guest speakers, Brian Turner from Clark Nexsen and Kimberlee Dobbins, sustainability coordinator with the Virginia Beach Convention Center; to the vocal performers from the Governor’s School for the Arts, both current students and alumni; and to Justin’s family who catered the event and provided art for the silent auction benefiting the sustainable rebuilding efforts in Haiti.
